For the avoidance of error in this reexamination

I direct attention to a few of the mistakes which

I have observed.

(a) In each prospective pension on the cards

( and elsewhere) two sets of figures are required

in respect of the entire amount; the one set

in black ink, which should contain the higher elements by the Table in former use or by the

Ceylon Table. And theother in red ink (underneath the former) should give the total pension where each constituent of it from the out set is calculated by the Ceylon Table alone. Fence, the black-ink figures should always be higher than the red-ink figures. Now, no red-ink figures are given in a large number of instances, and, often the red-ink figures (wrongly) exceed the black-ink figures.

The total prospective pension in each case at the Valuation is the sum of the several pro- spective pensions purchased by the original annual contribution at entry, and by each additional annual contribution which is based upon each successive increase of salary. Where the salary has been reduced, with a reduction of the con- tribution, the total prospective pension will be diminished ( see Article 10, section 2 of
